nerd news

so i'm waiting for my slight happy hour buzz to wear off and for traffic to die down before i drive back to williamsburg for the weekend. i told myself i was going to spend this one in dc, but gabrielle's family got a service that's picking up all our stuff on sunday. so it looks like i've actually got to finish packing this weekend and get out of there. eek!

i went to the dc9 last night to see hot lava. they were fun as usual. but what was more fun was kitty hawk in what dana termed his "french sailor chic":

on a nerdier note, i just made some exciting (to me) purchases. at work, we write in ap style. after years of mla, it's an odd switch, i think. but i don't really know that much about it. sooooo i used this as an excuse to buy the ap style manual. i just love style manuals. of course, to complement the stylebook, i also bought the companion comprehensive guide to punctuation. i can't wait to get back here on sunday and drink them in. i'm all aflutter.
