an average day

7:55-8:00 - arrive, turn on computer
8:00-8:15 - read e-mails, respond
8:15-8:45 - read the news, blogs, etc.
8:45-9:00 - go downstairs to get coffee, take a walk around the block
9:00-9:30 - talk to office roommate
9:30-10:30 - do any editing work i have to do
10:30-11:30 - think about calling a client
11:30-11:45 - decide client is probably at lunch, e-mail client
11:45-12:15 - googlereader/facebook/blog
12:15-12:30 - ask everyone individually what i should do for lunch
12:30-1:30 - avoid eating lunch with anyone, usually take food outside, read
1:30-1:45 - make list of all billable time for the day
1:45-2:30 - think about calling a contracing officer with questions
2:30-2:45 - convince office roommate to call contracting officer
2:45-3:00 - wait for boss to get off phone to ask question
3:00-3:15 - complain about how my boss isn't very approachable
3:15-
3:30 - "go get a treat" aka walk around the block
3:30-
4:00 - read news/blogs/facebook
4:00-4:45 - realize i didn't actually do any work, hurry to finish anything important
4:45-5:00 - make up remaining billable hours, make to-do list for tomorrow
5:00-5:05 - shut down computer, tell boss i'm leaving, leave

whew. what a day.
