we went to sticky rice for karaoke last night, but we are old and tired and left because they hadn't started setting it up and it was already late. i wore my hood just in case i needed to dramatically pull it up during a performance. unfortunately, that move was only executed in the privacy of my own room. it was dramatic regardless.

i had a beautiful sunday of brunching and sunshining which followed my beautiful saturday of old people, semaphore, and broken shoes. i received some kissing by the sun, and the weather has been so lovely these last few days. the bethesda farmers market reopened for the season yesterday. i bought some sunflower flax bread and it's delicious.

my mother has thrice referenced how happy she was to spend mother's day with all her children. unfortunately, i wasn't home for mother's day. i think mom has replaced me with sarah, and i'm slightly offended.

i moved some furniture in my room again. i'm sleeping on the other side of my bed now, which i have never done before. it's weird. the blankets move the wrong way, the clock features are switched, i don't know which direction to lay, and i have to use a different hand to silence WTOP's bomb-dropping intro. to traffic and weather (together! on the 8s!). it's like learning to write with my left hand. i can do it, but it's awkward and takes longer and isn't very successful. i'm assuming it will stop feeling backwards at some point. i am also finally unpacking more of my stuff and putting things on the walls of my room. the rose bushes both bloomed even though we took such poor care of them. they, of course, cannot compare to the garden of eden next door in rudolpho's yard. but how are we expected to keep up that level of vegetation. especially without an exotic bird as an accessory.
