my high school friend patrick, who now attends st. john's in annapolis, visited me on sunday. he said i look/act grown-up in my present life, and i took that as a positive comment. we don't see each other very often and we rarely talk outside of our meetings, but it's like nothing has changed every time even though we've both changed so much in the past nine years. also nine years? scary! i'm old.
speaking of that, my birthday is just over a week away!
i was an owl for halloween. the costume was loosely based on a martha stewart design meant for an infant. it was a fun night! friends everywhere!
exciting news: i have a job interview in two weeks. my original intention was not to tell very many people about it. that way, if i don't get the job, i wouldn't have to relive the disappointment every time someone asks me about it. but i'm just so excited! i can't stop talking about it! it's for an assistant librarian position with some friars up near catholic. eek! i'm both excited about the job and terrified about the interview! i'm sure i'll work myself into all kinds of tizzies in the next two weeks.
oh and did i mention my birthday is approaching?
