my active life

it feels like i've done so much since last i blogged! it feels like i'm never home and like i'm never getting enough sleep and like there are endless things i want/need to do and don't have the time for.

my activities for the last week include but are not limited to the following:
1. had dinner with dad and watched a bond movie in crystal city. he laughed at all the right parts.
2. tried to see persepolis in petworth but couldn't find it. went to wonderland instead.
3. saw the dark knight in the imax theater at the natural history museum.
4. saw my coworker dj some scandinavian music. had viking beer.
5. attended a company bowling party. got a little bit drunk on accident. bowled well first game, not so well second game.
6. had to work a function in bethesda at 6:30 in the morning. woke up at 4:40 a.m. because of commute. realized that is too early.
7. met up with devan in richmond to hang out/go to sticky rice. felt joy at seeing devan!
8. went to williamsburg to get my bike and was detained for a couple hours.
9. went to the pool.
10. shopped in eastern market and capitol hill books.
11. toured the bars of pennsylvania ave.
12. worked from home for half a day. loved it.
13. saw new metro stops.
14. went to trivia at the argonaut again. will become a regular.
15. finished the waves. thought it was truly amazing. started a room with a view.
16. took half a day of pto (paid time off!). used it to visit devan as previously mentioned.
17. worked 42.25 hours.

my brother and his girlfriend are in dc for the weekend to attend two nationals games. i'm going with them tonight and showing off my house/my 'hood beforehand. i have monday off work, which i fully intend to spend at the pool with dana. hopefully, i will also unpack, which i still haven't done. i stub my toes on boxes every morning trying to find the light switch.

however, speaking of light switches, there's always a time right after you move in somewhere when you don't know how many steps you have to go down or where the light switch is or which light switches turn on which lights. that's still kind of going on here, but i can tell i'm getting close to not having to fumble for the switch to the porch light when i come home at night and to not having to turn the light on in order to navigate the semi-treacherous stairs into the basement (my lair). it's almost home!

a change between college and post-college: i only look at my google calendar in the month view, not by the week.

p.s. i'd forgotten how humid williamsburg is. wow.
