13-minute pump up

i hate calling people, particularly clients. i have to pump myself up to do it. which is why i have put together the 13-minute pump up which consists of the following:
1. phil collins - easy lover
2. rod stewart - young turks
3. bruce springsteen - dancing in the dark

as soon as bruce says, "HEEEY BABY" and pulls courtney up on stage, i throw off my headphones, call my client, and let the pump up play out. i bet i sound really confident and awesome on the phone after the pump up.

also, "dancing in the dark" is the most ridiculous song because no one believes that bruce springsteen is sitting around writing a book in those tight jeans.


new favorite thing: ACE OF CAKES.dana has been talking about ace of cakes forever, and i finally saw an episode last night. it's my new favorite show. this show is so drama-free. it's just straight up cake-making by seemingly awesome people. it's like you're hanging out with these people while they make some wacky cakes and everything is just really laid-back. i love it!

gabrielle was on their website last night, and i was saddened to know they are not hiring, not even accepting volunteers. a commute to baltimore would be totally worth it if i could work there, right? duff seems like a regular stephen tyler of wllmsbrg grphcs but without all the negatives! i would be so awesome at making cakes without any training in cake-making or art. i would work from the heart. the results would be spectacular and detail-oriented.
