i'm back in williamsburg this weekend. i debated coming down here for a long time which meant that i would ultimately choose to come. i always debate going places where i'm not sure i should go, but i always decide to go at the last minute and call gabrielle halfway asking if i should turn around. my erratic wanderlust is completely predictable. i'm going to pack, though, while i'm here. that way the trip is productive aside from whatever else it is. i need to consolidate this room, house, and past year into some boxes, tubs, and garbage bags. i'm not very good at that, but i've got high hopes.

new news
we found out yesterday that we got the house we applied for in capitol hill. gabrielle, laura, and i will be proud residents of the disctrict of columbia as of august 15th. i'm really excited about this. i think moving in will put an end to this transitional period. having all of my things in one place might help make me feel more like an adult living and working in dc rather than someone who's on vacation from college and just waiting to go back. this is what it looks like:
we have a little front yard and a patio/deck in the back. it also has three bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms, two floors and a finished basement, hardwood floors, exposed brick, all recently renovated. i loved it, loved it. and it's near to the metro for my morning commute. i think i'll feel at home in this house, probably because of the pale green exterior.
